Sometimes Less is More

So, who else was awake at the crack of dawn to watch The Royal Wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, a.k.a Will & Kate?  I admit, I was - at 4AM EST to be exact - and I was not disappointed, to say the least.  Kate looked like, well, a Princess.  William looked like, a Prince.  A wedding chock full of Fairy Tale proportions, wouldn't you agree?  And as in most Fairy Tales, I truly hope that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the future King and Queen of England, will live "Happily Ever After".

Ok, ok, so now that the festivities are over and we have all caught up on the sleep we may have lost, let's dish about the jewelry that Kate wore on her wedding day, or should I say, maybe, the lack thereof?  Although, such as in this case, sometimes Less is definitely More.  Of course I would be amiss if I didn't recognize the, hello, Cartier "halo" tiara loaned to her by HRH Queen Elizabeth II, or the simple wedding band Prince William slipped on her finger made from a piece of Welsh gold given to him by his grandmum, Queen Elizabeth II and the oval blue sapphire and diamond engagement ring that Prince William gave to Kate when he "popped the question" - and must we not forget, the same engagement ring that once belonged to his mum, Princess Diana - however, the only other piece of jewelry that Kate wore on her wedding day was a pair of  diamond earrings given to her as a present from her parents, created by jeweler Robinson Pelham and designed to complement the tiara.  All in all, a perfect ensemble.

So girls, in conclusion, what little lesson can we learn from the Duchess of Cambridge's fashion sense? ..... That sometimes all we need to complete our attire - is a perfect pair of earrings.

Remember to check out the earrings we have available in our Artfire Artisan Studio -
